Partnership for Onondaga Creek

It's Great to Feel Appreciated!

Last week, a group of business owners from the Armory Square district held a celebration party for the Partnership. The event was held in the Community Gardens on Midland Avenue , just a few feet from Onondaga Creek.

These folks appreciate that even after the Midland Avenue sewage treatment plant was built on the Southside, the Partnership for Onondaga Creek and our allies, were persistent in our efforts to halt the building of the Clinton RTF. That sewage plant had been slated to go in the Armory Square trolley lot.

David Church, Karin Vladimer, and James Horan took the lead in this endeavor, with the support of many other businesses wishing to express their gratitude.

Thank you all!

This is Onondaga Creek

Both pictures were taken on the same day, by the same photographer, in the same canoe, under the Midland Avenue bridge.

>The top picture shows the Midland Avenue sewage plant (on the right) and the impact this construction has had on the creek.

The bottom shows the creek, as it looks immediately upstream.

Our thanks to by Rob Griffiths of the Onondaga Environmental Institute for these photographs. For more pictures of Onondaga Creek and the Partnership, go to Photos and visit our Webshots page.
